Sumerge adds comprehensive BPM and ECM to the Ministry of Petroleum in Egypt

Sumerge is honored to be expanding its business with the Egyptian government with a completely new project with the Ministry of Petroleum (MOP). Sumerge will deliver a comprehensive Business Process Management and Enterprise Content Management solutions to the MOP. The first phase of the project will cover 6 departments including the financial department, the minister’s office, the human resources department, and the planning & mineral resources department. The project will also include a correspondence management solution for the minister’s office. We will be using IBM Websphere Application Server, IBM FileNet, IBM FileNet Capture as well as Java (J2EE) technologies in delivering this project.
The Ministry of Petroleum (MOP) established in 1972, is the Egyptian authority that supervises exploration, production, marketing and distribution of oil, gas and other natural resources. The petroleum sector in Egypt consists of 6 state-owned entities: Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (GANOPE), and Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources.
