The Egyptian State Security Intranet Portal project kickoff

Sumerge was assigned a new Enterprise Intranet portal solution project by the state Security in Egypt. The solution will be integrating more than 30 existing systems and will be offering emails, instant messaging, collaboration, web content management, workflows, and enterprise search in the existing databases and archiving system. The portal will be implemented as a cluster on 13 physical machines providing high availability and failover to ensure 24 x 7 access. Sumerge will deliver the project utilizing IBM Websphere Portal, IBM Web Content Manager (WCM), Java, DB2 and IBM Omnifind technologies.
The state Security is the main domestic security agency of Egypt. Its main responsibilities are counter-intelligence, internal and border security, counter-terrorism, and surveillance. The agency is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior, is headquartered in Cairo, and has about 100,000 employees.
