Sumerge will start the implementation of the unified billing & recharge system for the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), the Ministry of Electricity in Egypt (MOE) using IBM Websphere Application Server, IBM Cognos, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SSIS technologies. Sumerge’s system will be deployed in the 9 main distribution companies across Egypt to standardize the electricity meters system and help manage services, accounts and bills. The unified billing & recharge system will integrate with all the payment channels and all different types and brands of electricity meters. This project will help The MOE overcome all the challenges that came with the decision of transitioning from the old digital electricity meters to the pre-paid ones and will provide both the end users and citizens with a seamless experience.
The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) established in 1976 works to provide electric energy for economic and social development projects through the unified electrical network with the necessary capabilities and the highest level of technical specifications. It also takes all the guarantees to insure the stability and continuity of electricity supply without interruption in all cases with optimum use of all resources to maximize profitability. The MOE has 9 main distribution companies: North Cairo, South Cairo, Alexandria, Canal, North Delta, South Delta, El-Behera, Middle Egypt and Upper Egypt. Its mission is to provide electrical power to all users in all fields in accordance with international standards in order to contribute in the achievement of comprehensive development plans.
